Old Trafford Day Tour
In this blog, I will be talking to you about my experience at Manchester United Football Stadium and the Old Trafford Day Tour.
Apart from my college experience with Club Doncaster Sports College, we have an educational trip and a reward trip in my first year. A tour of Old Trafford was our educational trip to make us aware of how an organisation/business works.
Manchester United Football Stadium Tour
The Old Trafford Tour was a great experience in seeing the stadium, looking at the trophies and history of the club, and a business background on how much the business is worth.
Old Trafford is the home stadium of the premier league football club Manchester United. Even if you are not a football fan of the club, it was still a great experience with the knowledge and takeaways you can remember.
Business Presentation
My day tour at Old Trafford started off with a business presentation and a little club’s financial background. We got to ask any questions regarding how the organisation works.
It was pretty interesting to see the financial difference over the past 10 years, and the impact new players and managers can make on the club.
Different players and managers bring different income and interest to the club so how the money fluctuates over the years is quite astonishing.
Stadium Tour
The second part of the tour was the stadium tour; we had the pleasure of having a tour of each stand. Also, VIP areas, the football tunnel side of the football pitch, and even the footballers changing rooms with their kit hanging like it would on a match day.
Personally, my favourite part of the stadium tour had to be the footballers changing rooms. Seeing how it looks like on a game day and going off to the football tunnels just to see where they record mini-interviews with players. Having the chance to walk out of the tunnels was a great experience.
Old Trafford’s Museum & History of Manchester United
Our final part of the tour was going to the museum and looking at the club’s history and the victories they have had.
The museum, in my opinion, was not the best as I am not a Manchester United fan. But just to read up on some knowledge of the club can really create a positive social impact on younger people and encourage them to follow their own sports passions.
Benefit Of This Tour
The benefit of this tour is that the business presentation gave young students an understanding of what it takes to run and business and what needs to be considered when planning future investments into the club.
Overall the Old Trafford Day Tour was a great experience that I will not forget if I had an opportunity to go on another football tour. I would accept it due to the knowledge and experience you can take away from the club.
