Year 12 Results Day – Next Steps
In this blog, I will talk to you about my year 12 results day and what options my results give me after my first year at Club Doncaster Sports College.
The Grade I Achieved
On 13th August 2020, it was the day I got my results for my first year at Club Doncaster Sports College.
After handing my assignments at merit or distinction meeting all criteria, from the beginning of the year to the end of remote learning during the lockdown, I ended up with a Distinction for my first year.
It was difficult during the lockdown, but to get the best grade, I used all of the resources to get my grade.
My First Year Grade & What That Means
Getting a Distinction in my first year is an outstanding achievement. This gives me a wide range of options for my career pathway after college and how to get there.
Technically a distinction in UCAS terms means that I have gained 72 UCAS points. This puts me in an excellent position for my second year at Club Doncaster Sports College.
If I put in the work and effort in my second year as I did in my first, I could achieve a DDD grade equivalent to 144 UCAS points.
Getting the best possible grade is extremely important when considering a career that requires a degree and going to university.
As you want to put yourself in the best position possible, you have multiple offers with the best course suited to you.
Completing your college work can be easy if you are dedicated and organise. My 2 years at Club Doncaster Sports College can be a walk in the park if I apply myself correctly.
My Options
To become a physiotherapist. I can either complete a university course, complete an apprenticeship, or work towards the role.
I have decided to go down the university course route, and I have decided to apply for Sheffield Hallam University and Leeds Beckett University.
If I could pick any, I would choose Sheffield Hallam University.
After researching the courses in more depth, the course offers me work placements and the best facilities to carry out my degree.
Finding The Best Course & Pathway For Me To Achieve My End Goal
My next task for my future career as a physiotherapist is to see what grades I need in my second year to get into the universities I want on the course that are best suited.
Finding the correct course for your pathway to your desired career is essential as that course decides if you will be fully qualified in the best way.
The resources college has recommended all students to use UCAS. UCAS is a website with all of your future options at a university, including further education, undergraduate, postgraduates.
If the university is not for you, alternatives give you more opportunities to correctly choose your future.
Benefit Of My Grade
Getting a distinction in my first year at Club Doncaster Sports College puts me in an excellent position for my second year.
This is because I got 72 UCAS points. In my second year, I can get the best grade possible, giving me a good amount of UCAS points. Which will allow me to apply for both university courses.
