Club Doncaster Sports College Experience After COVID-19 Pandemic
In this blog, I will be talking about how the COVID pandemic has changed my college experience and how I have approached my college work and adapted to working independently.
COVID Pandemic During My College Experience
During the covid pandemic, I completed my first year of Club Doncaster Sports College at home. I met remote learning and came out with a Distinction grade, which left me in a perfect position in my second year with any options for my next steps.
Returning To College
Returning back to college in September on a reduced timetable, I knew what I wanted out of my next year for my next step to pursuing my career as a physiotherapist.
In my second year at Club Doncaster Sports College, my next step would be getting the best grades possible to give me the best chance of pursuing my career as a physiotherapist.
But with COVID-19, this has changed the way my college experience of the course will happen.
This resulted in reducing contact with people and maintaining social distancing as a college had 2 social bubbles, the first bubble on a Monday Tuesday.
The second in on a Thursday and Friday; this did mean we were on a reduced timetable.
This meant that we would learn most of the college time theory and some remote at home completing assignments and work needed to pass the course.
Approaching My College Work
When approaching my college work, I always want the best grade possible to get. This makes everything a little easier when going forward on my journey.
Assignments I approach a straightforward way gathering all my notes together, following the criteria and brief to give myself the best possible chance to get the best grade.
The key to getting all criteria in an assignment is to have a solid structure that is clear to your tutors.
Exam preparation is essential when you have exams approaching. When your final end of year grade, your exams contribute significantly to it.
If you are allowed to take notes into your exam, ensure that your exam notes are clean, structured and have all relevant content on for the exam.
Suppose you don’t have the option to take notes for your exam.
While taking notes, imagine that you create your own revision guide for your revision period when the exam is fast approaching. In that case, this will make them a lot easier.
Approaching college work can be difficult, but you need to find your own way to use it throughout, as I did.
Affect Of My Career Pathway
COVID pandemic affected my career pathway in many ways.
This reduced my opportunities for work experience, which is needed to complete my Level 3 Sports Course, and show universities that I am a willing student and desire to have a career as a physiotherapist.
My grade could also be affected if I do not receive the support needed to get the best grade to get into the university of my choice.
