Finding My Golden Opportunity
In this blog, I will discuss how I found my opportunity to become a physiotherapist, degree-level apprentice.
Physiotherapist Degree Level Apprenticeship Opportunity
When researching physiotherapy courses at universities, I decided to complete some research about that essential role.
I came across 3 career pathway options that I could choose to become a physiotherapist. My options are a university degree course, an apprenticeship or working towards the role.
After thinking about my personal goals and my career goals, I felt that an apprenticeship would be the best pathway for me personally. So I looked at training providers to see if they did any degree level apprenticeships.
After researching training providers, I finally came across a degree level physiotherapy apprenticeship at Sheffield Hallam University.
Looking further into the apprenticeship, this was the opportunity that I have been looking for as it fits me perfectly, and it is what I want.
The degree-level apprenticeship is where I work for an employer and train on the job. This provides me with experience, which will put me in a better position than university students. I will have the experience and the degree qualification as university students will only have the qualification.
Contacting Sheffield Hallam & Having a Zoom Call
My next step in the process was contacting Sheffield Hallam’s apprenticeship department. About the apprenticeship to see if I could talk to someone.
And get more information on any questions that I may have.
Marie Hollingworth was the person I was in contact with, who was terrific explaining the full apprenticeship.
After my zoom call with Marie, I knew that this was exactly how I wanted to achieve and pursue my career.
So being in contact with Marie, she made sure I met all requirements and criteria. All I have to do is have an employer to be accepted on the course.
Why Degree Apprenticeships Is Well Suited To People Who Do Not Want The University Experience
This degree apprenticeship is well suited to me and students who do not want to go to university full time because this allows students like me to earn and get the qualification for the job they desire.
Degree apprenticeships help students avoid student debt and provide them with experience on the job while studying, so this is a very big positive when they go to get a job after qualifying.
When a degree apprentice finishes studying, they will be in a far better situation than an average full-time student as they become fully qualified.
Still, they have experience on the job, unlike a student who only has an academic qualification.

To become a degree level apprentice, you need to know and carry out these steps;
